In recent years, Mainland China has become the largest consumer market in the world, according to statistics, the total music output of digital music, live performance, film music, KTV(Karaoke Club) jukebox and music copyrights stretched out from Taiwan POP music deeply influence Mainland China! Astonishingly the total output of music industry in Mainland China highly reached 150 billion NT dollars (Approximately 50 billion US dollars). The first session of MIC 2012, Taiwan will be held in November, 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan.     The BAMID, MOC was founded in May, 2012. It is a bureau merged with former department of television and radio, department of movie and department of publication of the Bureau of Consular affairs, Executive Yen. It is responsible for managing and assisting the development of movies, radio, television and pop music industries in Taiwan.

    The PMPO was founded on the basis of the “Pop music Industry development project” validated by Executive Yen in June 17, 2010. It was approved in the 3201 meeting held in June 24, 2010 by Executive Yen that senior advisor, Chang, Kuei-Ming and coordinator, Yen, Tzu-Mao were professional leaders of the office. They have invited interdisciplinary senior managers from all over the world to serve as advisors. Furthermore, they have organized a professional team of 7 members for the project office in the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, MOC. The PMPO is responsible for collecting data and analyzing pop music market state, handling copy right issues, developing talent training system, planning and conducting forums and conferences and supporting other administration tasks.
